The Beaver County Strategic Development Director facilitates strategic direction and utilization of County resources, and performs the tasks listed below:
- Oversees economic development and other revenue generating activities.
- Oversees special projects including but not limited to complex grant writing and implementation, long-range planning, and project management.
- Investigates alternative funding sources and potential new methods for increasing the cost effectiveness of County operations.
- Deploys strategy in the short term and maintains a focus on the mid and long-term goals and vision.
- Oversees the long-term strategic plan development based on an analysis of systemic information and consideration of resources, market drivers, organization values and emerging economic, technological and regulatory conditions.
- Establishes and maintains working relationships with existing businesses and recruit potential businesses, developers, entrepreneurs, contractors and tourists; respond to questions, communicate the county’s vision.
- Provides information and interact with associated governments including State and private organizations to pool resources that will strengthen the local economy.
- Coordinate with the State Office of Economic Development, Outdoor Recreation and Tourism. Develops plans to maximize all county venues.
- Coordinates and oversees planning and implementation of local events. Coordinates events with other departments, staff and event organizers.
- Performs other related duties as required by the commission.
