On February 7th, 2019 at approximately 5:09 pm, the Beaver County Sheriff's Office received a call of an avalanche that had swept up two of three snowmobile riders. The subject who called in had been with the two friends in the area commonly known as the "Bowl" or "Anderson Cut #2", located in eastern Beaver Mountains near the border of Piute and Sevier Counties. The caller had tried to warn the other two subjects of the avalanche, however his attempts were unsucessful. The two subjects were buried by the avalanche, one subject was able to dig himself out and attempts are still being made to find the one remaining subject.

UPDATE: Earlier tonight we asked for assistance with the search for the missing youth in Pine Valley. We're pleased to announce to cancel assistance for tomorrow morning. A positive ID was reported in Washington County of him and BCSO no longer feels he is located in our area. Thanks to everyone for helping us.
